My Task

Analysis of Variance

For an English Teacher  like me, it was really hard to comprehend lessons relating to numbers... Fortunately, Ia happy to have supportive classmates who assisted me in preparation of my report. special thanks to Ma,am Delos Reyes for always motivating me that I can do it and to Sir Melvin and Mr. Mariel Villanueva for the tutorial.

The content of my discussed lesson is linked above.
Marmaee Pilapil

This topic is very necessary in every preparation of research. The sampling
that a researcher will undertake at the very beginning will determine the validity
of the result of the research later on.

I learned  the different kinds of sampling including the non-scientific sampling
and scientific sampling such as the random sampling, stratified random
sampling and etc.

The concepts embedded in this lesson is linked above.

Clarence Barron

The class was tasked to learn the Normal Curve and Characteristics of the Normal Distribution that morning under the discussion of the beautiful and generous reporter Miss Barron.

She was very enthusiastic and ready to share what she had studied about her assigned topic. Though there were lacking preparations like she was not able to prepare the table needed for the class, but the promptness of each member of the class and the cooperation made it easy to resolve the problem immediately. Thanks to the internet... It was easy for us to look for a table.

The lessons discussed was linked above.
Rosemarie Delos Reyes

I thought it was really tough to learn this topic, but with a competent Mathematician who happened to be my classmate in the person of Ma'am Rosemarie Delos Reyes it was not! I was so grateful that she was the one assigned with this topic. Her discussion really interest me to listen and get myself motivated to learn.

The content of her discussed lesson is linked above.
Measure Of Variability
 Reporter: Melvin Calixton

The report that day was intended to let us understand how spread out a distribution is and with a competent reporter like Mr. Melvin Calixton, I am thankful that I was able to comprehend it. The concept he introduced to us that day is linked above.

2. Learning Insights

2.1 The Measure of Central Tendency

In this lesson, i have learned the concepts of Mean, Median and Mode which I thought were difficult topics.... I thought it was really difficult to integrate them with Microsoft Excel but I was definitely wrong! It's a lot easier than solving using a calculator.
Through a good report of no less than Mr. Ricahard Agapay,  I learned that the measure of central tendency is a single figure which represents the general level of magnitude or values of items in a set of data. The most common concepts such as Mean, Median and Mode have become clear to me... I knew that mean is simply the average or the middle of the set of data which considered as the most reliable, most able and less probable to error. Median on the other hand is the middle value or the mean of the middle two values, when data are arranged in numerical order. "It is best to use it when the distribution  is irregular or skewed. Mode is the value or a number which appears the most. It is also possible to have more than one mode or even have no mode at all. In this topic, I also learned about weighted Mean and grand Mean.

1. Introduction

Statistics is an indispensable tool in many research designs in education, social and natural sciences and other related disciplines.
Knowledge of Statistics is vital for students and professionals as well as investigators in all fields of human endeavor. But sad to say, for someone like me who's inclination is in Languages the subject seems to be uninteresting. My attitude towards the subject matter is really negative and self-defeating. I have it in mind that Statistics is difficult to comprehend.
As I enrolled myself with the graduate program, I am now faced with the challenge to engage myself with Statistics.
So bare with me guys, as I, Sheila G. Ancino venture to the world of numbers and analysis of data with my newly found friends and mentors with high hopes not just to survive this subject but definitely learn a lot from it especially with it being integrated with technology.
